OnlyFelins is a free, all-ages parody site about cats. We collect as little as we can. This page says exactly what we keep, why, for how long, and who else sees it.
Who we are
OnlyFelins is run by Belenox, company number 0741.563.515, Chaussée de Louvain 490, 1380 Lasne, Belgium. Belenox is the controller of the personal data described here. Questions or requests: our contact form.
When you glam up a photo
- Your photo. Your browser shrinks the photo, then sends it to our server, which passes it to OpenAI twice: once to check it shows a cat and no people, then to make the glamour shot. We do not keep your original photo. The glamour shot is stored for 14 days so you can open it (your link works for 7 days), then deleted.
- OpenAI processes the photo on our behalf under its API terms. OpenAI says it does not use API data to train its models and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse. Please upload cats only: if a person is visible, the check refuses the photo, but it has still been sent to OpenAI to be checked.
- Daily limit. To keep the free limit fair, we count glam-ups per day against a random device number your browser creates and against your IP address. These counters are deleted automatically after 2 days.
When you share
Sharing is optional and only happens when you press “Get my share link”. It makes a public page at onlyfelins.com/s/… showing your glamour shot as a square card with our logo. Your original photo is never on it. The page and card stay online until you ask us to remove them: ask through our contact form with the link. Anyone with the link can see the page; search engines are asked not to index it.
When you sign in
Signing in is optional; glamming up a photo never needs an account.
- Your e-mail address, to send you a sign-in link (through Amazon’s e-mail service) and to recognise your account. We keep it until you ask us to delete your account. We never send newsletters or share it.
- Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and work once.
- A sign-in cookie (
of_session) keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It holds only an account number, never your e-mail.
When you write to us
The contact form sends us what it is about, your message, the page link if you give one and, only if you want an answer, your e-mail address. We keep it for 365 days so we can follow up a request, then it is deleted automatically.
On your device
Your browser stores a random device number (for the daily limit) and small preferences such as which Creatures you have Purr-scribed to. They never leave your device except the device number, sent with each glam-up. Clear your browser’s site data to remove them.
How we count visits
To know whether the site works, we keep daily totals only: how many pages of each kind were viewed (home, Creature profiles, the glam page and so on), how many glam-ups and shares were made, how many visits came from a share link and how many people installed the app. Your browser sends just the kind of page; we store a number per day and nothing else: no cookie, no IP address, no device number, no address of the page. Nobody, us included, can tell from these totals who visited.
What we do not do
No advertising cookies without your consent, no tracking pixels, no analytics that follow a person, no selling or sharing of data. Our servers do not write your e-mail, IP address or photos to their logs.
Ads
We have applied to show ads from Google AdSense, to pay for the site and to give 50% of the net ad revenue to the shelter of the month. No ad is shown and no Google ad script loads yet. When ads start:
Google and other ad companies working with it use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your earlier visits to this site and to other sites, to limit how often you see the same ad and to measure results. You can turn off ads based on you in Google’s My Ad Center and, for other companies, at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, Google’s consent message asks you first: without your yes, no advertising cookie is set and you only see ads that are not based on you. How Google uses this information: How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Where your data lives
On Amazon Web Services in Ireland (EU). OpenAI processes photos in the United States, under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Why we may use it (legal basis)
Running the service you ask for (glam-ups, sign-in), and our legitimate interest in keeping it free of abuse (the daily limit). Accounts are for people aged 13 or over.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, through our contact form. We answer within one month. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
